A 25,000 gallon storage tank was installed at the treatment plant. The new tank, called a “flow equalization tank” will supplement an existing tank and more than double storage capacity. The new tank is 50ft long and 10ft in diameter. The tanks are used to temporarily hold influent, which reaches the plant in varying amounts during the day. Households waste varies throughout the day, and there are several lift stations in the system that collect and pump influent to the plant in varying cycles. The flow equalization tanks store that uneven flow, so that it can be sent to the plant at a near constant rate, 24 hours a day. your paragraph here.
